Diz Lathe Cuts is a sole trader providing hand-cut lathe vinyl record services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What data we collect and why
Order enquiries (Google Forms)
When you submit an order request, we collect your name, email address, and the details you provide about your project. This data is used to assess your order, prepare a quote, and fulfil the service. The legal basis is performance of a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
File uploads (Google Drive via Apps Script)
Audio and artwork files you upload are stored in a private Google Drive folder accessible only to Kieron Deane. They are used solely to produce your order and are not shared with third parties. The legal basis is performance of a contract.
Email correspondence
Emails sent to kieron@dizlathecuts.co.uk are stored in Google Workspace and used to manage your order. The legal basis is performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
Website analytics (Google Analytics 4)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website. This collects anonymised data including pages visited, time on site, browser type, and approximate location. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. The legal basis is consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
Cookies
This website uses cookies only if you consent. The cookies used are:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*) — set only after you accept analytics cookies. Used to distinguish visitors and sessions for website analytics. Expire after 2 years / 24 hours respectively.
- Cookie consent preference (diz_cookies) — a localStorage item that remembers your cookie choice. Not a cookie in the traditional sense — stored locally in your browser only.
No marketing, advertising or tracking cookies are used.
Who we share data with
We use the following third-party data processors:
- Google LLC — Google Forms, Google Drive, Google Workspace (email), Google Analytics. Data may be processed in the US under EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google's privacy policy.
- Netlify Inc. — Website hosting. Server logs may include IP addresses. See Netlify's privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with any other third parties.
How long we keep your data
- Order and correspondence data — retained for 6 years for accounting and legal purposes, then deleted.
- Audio and artwork files — retained for 90 days after order completion, then deleted unless you ask us to keep them.
- Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for 14 months (default retention setting).
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — for analytics, at any time via cookie settings in the footer
